FALL REGISTRATION |

A late registration session for
recreation soccer is scheduled for August 30 at
the Walter Fuller Recreation Center, 7891-26th Ave N., 9
a.m. - 12 p.m.
Parents need to bring personal
identification, copy of a birth certificate for players
who did not participate in a Florida Youth Soccer Assoc. (FYSA)
affiliated league last season, city ID card and
check payable to AYSL. Players 8 and older should
attend with their parent(s).
Registration fee includes
$125 per player and a $40 volunteer deposit per family.
Siblings receive $10 discount. Volunteer deposit is
not required for returning head coaches, board
members and sponsors. The volunteer deposit is
returned after parent completes 3 or more hours of volunteer
service as identified in the league's
volunteer activities publication.
City
ID cards are available at all city recreation centers.
Nearest to the AYSL soccer fields are the Walter Fuller
Recreation Center (893-7443) and the Azalea Adult Center
(893-7150). To acquire an ID card, city residents must
bring two forms of identification to a city recreation
center, one of them must include a photograph. The
cost of the card for residents is $5. The cost for
non-residents is $10/month. For further information,
call the City Recreation Office, 893-7441 or your
local city recreation center.

ABOUT
RECREATION SOCCER |
|
|
The Azalea Youth Soccer League's
Recreation Program is for boys and girls of all
skill levels, ages 4 to 18. The Program is
intended to teach the game of soccer while building
player skills in an environment that encourages an
understanding of sportsmanship and teamwork.
The season begins the first week of November
and ends the second week of February.
Practices begin the first week of October.
Practices for the U6 and U8 age groups
are held once weekly from 6-7:30. The U6 teams
practice on either Monday or Wednesday night. The U8
teams practice on either Tuesday or Thursday night. U10 teams practice
twice weekly from 6-7:30. U12 and older teams practice
twice weekly usually from 7:30-9. Practices for the
U10 and older teams are on Mondays and Wednesdays or
Tuesdays and Thursdays.
U6 games are played on
Friday nights at 6:30. U8 coed games are played on Friday
nights at 6:30 or 8:00. U10 coed games
are played on Friday nights at 8:00 or on Saturdays. U8
girls, U10 girls and U12 and older ages play all their games
on Saturdays.
Players receive a uniform and a trophy
at the end of the season. U6 and U8
players need a #3 ball, U10 and U12 need
a #4 ball, and U14 and up need a #5
ball. Players must have their own
practice ball and a pair of cleats, shin
guards and socks.
