The Azalea Youth Soccer League's Recreation Program is for boys and girls of all skill levels, ages 4 to 18.  The Program is intended to teach the game of soccer while building player skills in an environment that encourages an understanding of sportsmanship and teamwork.  The season begins the first week of  November and ends the second week of February.  Practices begin the first week of October. 

Practices for the U6 and U8 age groups are held once weekly from 6-7:30.  The U6 teams practice on either Monday or Wednesday night.  The U8 teams practice on either Tuesday or Thursday night.  U10 teams practice twice weekly from 6-7:30.  U12 and older teams practice twice weekly usually from 7:30-9.  Practices for the U10 and older teams are on Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. 

U6 games are played on Friday nights at 6:30.  U8 coed games are played on Friday nights at 6:30 or 8:00.  U10 coed games are played on Friday nights at 8:00 or on Saturdays.  U8 girls, U10 girls and U12 and older ages play all their games on Saturdays.

Players receive a uniform and a trophy at the end of the season.  U6 and U8 players need a #3 ball, U10 and U12 need a #4 ball, and U14 and up need a #5 ball.  Players must have their own practice ball and a pair of cleats, shin guards and socks. 

Late registration applications are currently being accepted in all age groups for the fall 2010/11 Recreation Season.  If you’re interested in registering your child(ren) please follow the instructions below.

1.   Send email to albart04@msn.com with your child’s name(s) and birthdate(s).  This will hold a spot for them pending receipt of the registration forms and payment.

2.   Print and complete the Registration Application.  If you have a resident ID card or non-resident pass please write the pass or receipt (non-residents) number somewhere on the form.  If you don’t have a card or pass at this time you can pick one up at any city recreation center after you send in the registration application.  Then send the number to the email address above after you receive the card/pass. 

3.    Print and complete the Medical Release form. Notarized signature is required.

4.    Print, read and sign the Code of Understanding.

5.    Write check payable to AYSL for the registration fee and volunteer deposit. 

 Per Player Registration fee

·  Under Six (4 and 5 year olds - as of Aug. 1) - $90

·  Under Eight (6 and 7 year olds - as of Aug. 1) - $115

·  Under Ten and Older (8-18 year olds - as of Aug. 1) - $125

 Per Family Volunteer deposit - $50

The volunteer deposit is returned after parent completes 5 or more hours of volunteer service as identified in the league's volunteer activities publication.  The volunteer deposit is not required for returning head coaches, board members and sponsors. 

6.   Make copy of birth certificate(s) if your son(s)/daughter(s) did not participate at AYSL last season.

7. Mail checks, copy of birth certificate (if necessary), and completed Registration Application, Medical Release form and Code of Understanding to the address shown below by September 4, 2010.
